Spice up your Front Row with Perian & Flip For Mac

Are you a Mac user ? have you ever thought that it will be good if there is support for your favorite WMV file (or some other format that is not supported) in Front Row. Front Row only acts as a composite front-end for iTunes, iPhoto, Quicktime and DVD player. So it turns out Front Row can only play a video that Quicktime can play. Here we are going to checkout some cool plugins and applications that can help us play more formats using our Quicktime player (And this will enable Front Row to play them too).Perian & Flip For Mac can help us do this.

Perian is a free and open source QuickTime component
that adds native support for many popular video formats.

Video Formats supported by Perian :
  • AVI, FLV, and MKV file formats

For sure Flip4Mac is quite essential, and I *have* found Perian useful too. There's one more helper with Streamclip
